About the event

The Hoi An Lantern Festival is a recurring cultural event held every full moon. During the festival, electric lights are turned off and the town is illuminated by thousands of lanterns.

Visitors can release lanterns into the river, watch traditional performances, and explore local markets. The event creates a magical and romantic atmosphere. It is one of the most iconic experiences in Vietnam.
